Responsible
Fax Policies:
A
Successful Campaign for a Better Law
|
APW
managed a successful grassroots campaign by its
client, National Newspaper Association, in 2005 to update
federal faxing laws. By protecting legitimate and responsible
use of the fax machine by small businesses and strengthening
consumers protections against unwanted junk fax, the
Junk Fax Prevention Act of 2005 now creates a framework
for future fax use. Commercial faxes may be sent to
established customers, but must be accompanied by a
cost-free 'opt-out' statement on the first page.
APW
was pleased to assist NNA as a key member of the Junk
Fax Coalition and to help Congress usher this important
consumer protection into law.
APW
specializes in working with member groups on grassroots
